A laser machine 1 is especially for punctuation, cutting, welding, or engraving and is provided with at least one laser beam sources 3, 4 for generating laser beam 9 and an optical system 6 for guiding and/or operating the laser beam 9. The optical system 6 is provided with a guide system 16 for a tool holder 12 which has at least one tool 23 attached to the exchangeable tool holder 12, especially an optical lens 24 or a nozzle, and can slide the tool holder 12 only sideways in or out of a tool section 10 provided by the laser machine 1. The guide system 16 has an operable locking system 37 for restricting movements of the tool holder 12 in the tool section 10.
