Abstract:
PURPOSE: To execute stress condition change of the metal surface not requiring reaction force compensation so as to increase working efficiency and improve reliability.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of a work 2 is irradiated with a laser beam 3 from a pulse laser device 8 through a reflection mirror 9 and traveling reflection mirror 10. The work 2 is placed in a transparent liquid 1, with the traveling reflection mirror 10, by irradiating the laser beam 3 while changing an irradiating position on the surface of the work 2, compression stress is made remained on the surface of the material 2 to be worked.
