Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a wiper operation at a proper timing.SOLUTION: A light projection part projects pulse form light to a predetermined irradiation region outside a vehicle via a glass surface from an inside of the vehicle. A light receiving part is arranged at a position by a predetermined distance in a substantially horizontal direction from the light projection part, and receives a reflection wave by the reflection of light projected by the light projection part by an object in a predetermined range from the glass surface via the glass surface. A control part gives a command of quick operations of a wiper when an amount of the object is equal to or more than a predetermined level based on a light reception level detected by the light receiving part. A wiper operation control part performs a control for allowing the wiper to perform quick operations after the elapse of the waiting time since it is detected that the amount of the object is equal to or more than the predetermined level till the wiper operations start. The present technique can be applied, for example, to the laser radar device.
