The laser treatment apparatus for irradiating laser beams from a therapeutic laser source on a desired position comprises a spot forming means for forming laser beams in a prescribed spot size, a scan means for scanning laser beams, a setting means for setting the ratio of overlapping of adjacent laser spots and the scan range to be scanned, a determining means for determining the number and the disposition of the laser spots so that the scan range after the overlapping ratio is changed satisfies a prescribed condition for the scan range set before the change of the overlapping ratio when the set value of the overlapping ratio is changed, and a control means for controlling the scan means based on the information determined by the determining means.
