Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser welding apparatus capable of maintaining a precision of laser welding even when a relative speed with a welding object fluctuates during laser welding, a laser welding method, and a laser processing lens utilizing laser welding.SOLUTION: A laser welding apparatus 20 radiates a battery case 10 with a welding laser beam to laser-weld the battery case 10 and makes a relative speed variable between the welding laser beam and the battery case 10. The laser welding apparatus 20 comprises a beam generator 23 the welding laser beam of which is a synthetic laser beam 6 generated from one or more laser beams including a first laser beam L1 having at least a Gauss type strength distribution, and is generated as an irradiation laser beam Ltg having a distribution where the strength of the laser beam L6 reaches a maximum value at the central part surrounded by the peripheral part, and the beam generator 23 increases the maximum value of a strength distribution of the synthetic laser beam L6 with increases in relative speed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
