Title:
LASER WELDING EQUIPMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3718140
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a welding time and decrease the consumption of an inert gas by evacuating in a laser welding of a fuel rod, a lower end cap of a thimble pipe for guiding a control rod, or the like.
SOLUTION: In equipment with which a work is welded with a laser beam in a welding chamber 4, the welding chamber 4 is made to be a double wall construction by providing a welding top chamber 1 which has dimensions to house the work to be welded, in the welding chamber 4, each of the chambers are provided with inlet ports 14a, 14b and 13 for introducing inert gas, and a laser guide cylinder 5 having a plurality of inlet ports 11 for introducing inert gas is fixed on the top chamber 1 in the way that the front end is directed to the work, thus the welding is performed while the work is kept in the environment of the inert gas.
