To provide a laser welding method where the reliability of welding quality can be increased by a simple procedure.
Regarding the laser welding method, in a post-welding step, a laser displacement gauge 302 is made to scan at the surface of a workpiece 42 in which a weld zone W is exposed, so as to cross the weld zone W. Next, the laser displacement gauge 302 is made to scan at the surface of a work 41 in which the weld zone W is not exposed, so as to cross the confronted part V with the weld zone W. Then, based on the waveform pattern of each output signal from the laser displacement gauge 302, the presence or absence of the undercut and underfill in the weld zone W and the ruggedness quantity and folding quantity in the confronted part V is determined. By the comprehensive inspection of the respective items, the reliability of welding quality can be increased. Further, regarding the respective items, since the presence or absence is determined at a time by respectively scanning the weld zone W and the confronted part V with the laser displacement gauge 302, welding quality can be inspected by a simple procedure.
