Abstract:
To provide a lash adjuster capable of reducing the friction torque of an adjust screw with less number of parts.
A serrated female screw 22 is formed in the opening end inner peripheral surface of a cylindrical body 21. A serrated male screw 24 formed on the outer periphery of the adjust screw 23 is screwed to the female screw 22. A coiled spring 25 for biasing the adjust screw 23 outward is incorporated in the body 21. A concave 30 is formed in the seat surface 29 of the adjust screw 23 for receiving the spring force of the coil spring 25. The small-diameter coil end part 25a of the coil spring 25 is brought into line contact with the concave 30. Consequently, the friction torque can be reduced.
