Abstract:
PURPOSE: To use a latch set assembly by any of four kinds of door fitting methods with a simple adjustment by forming the latch set assembly with a pair of plates with slots, a sliding plate, a cam and a sliding bolt. CONSTITUTION: This latch bolt assembly is provided with a pair of plates 30, 32 having slots 34, 36 and opening sections 40, a slidable bolt 86 and a cam 54 rotatably fitted into the slot 34. The height of the slot 34 is made larger than the diameter of a hub section 55 so that the cam 54 in the slot 34 can be vertically moved, and a sliding plate 42 moving the cam 54 is provided to hold the horizontal center line of the cam 54 at the prescribed position in the vertical direction at an interval from the horizontal center line of the bolt 86. One latch bolt assembly can be used for a right opening or left opening door via an inside turn or an outside turn.
