Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate drawer pull-out operation by providing a latch at both ends on the right and left of a drawer and a latch release mechanism which is in the interlocking relationship with a knob of the drawer in a lateral open type cabinet which is used in an office.
SOLUTION: A lateral open type cabinet is constituted by providing a front open type drawer which can move forward and backward freely in a case and a door plate which can be opened and closed freely in its upper part and is stored in the case. When a knob 7 at the center on a front face of the drawer is pulled forward by applying a hand on it, the knob 7 is turned, and a support shaft 8 fixed on the knob 7 is also turned. A vertical rise part 8a at both ends of the support shaft 8 pushes an operation rod part 9a of a latch 9 against a coil spring 14, and the latch 9 is turned horizontally around a vertical shaft 10 to make a locking hole 9b come off a locking part provided inside the case of the cabinet. Consequently, the latch 9 provided at both ends of the drawer is released by merely applying a hand on the knob 7 of the drawer so that the drawer can be pulled out easily.
