Abstract:
To provide a latch device for a vehicle, which can surely inhibit a rattle from being generated in an engaged portion between a latch and a striker, which can be miniaturized, and which is superior in strength.
When an excessive load acts in a release direction on the latch 5 in an over-travel position, a power point portion 55 of an arm portion 52 of the latch 5 is engaged with a cam surface 71 of a cam plate 7 by biting thereinto. Thus, the turning of the cam plate 7 is restrained; and a locking plate 6 abuts on an inhibition portion 73 which is provided in the cam plate 7, so that the turning of the locking plate 7 can also be inhibited.
