PURPOSE: To raise the heat transfer efficiency without developing unnecessary stresses to a tube and shell by providing fins lined longitudinally in the up-and-down direction in the outer face of each tube and constituting the fines provided on the upper side of the tube in the highest stage so as to make the upper brims of those fins reach near the upper surface of a latent heat storage material at least when it solidifies.
CONSTITUTION: In the inside of a cylindrical shell 1 a plurality of tubes 2 are arranged, and in the tube 2 a heat medium fluid flows through to give external heat to a latent heat storage material 3 and plays the role to take out the heat stored in the latent heat storage material to the outside. At the upper and lower sections of the tube 2 a longitudinally running fin 5 s provided in the vertical plane passing through the center of the tube 2, and the fine is formed as one body with the tube 2 by the forming methods such as drawing, extrusion, welding, mechanical joining, etc. and the end brims that are mutually opposite are vertically connected. As a result, the thermal storage material near the tube 2 and fin 5 transfers the heat of the heat medium excellently during thermal storage mode, and a liquefying section penetrating the shell in the up-and-down direction is formed, and heat convection occurs with a raised heat transfer efficiency. Furthermore, in heat radiation mode a solid plate-shaped section of a thermal storage material extending up-and-down in the shell is formed on the contrary so that the mechanical strength is raised and damage is prevented.
