Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a barium hydroxide octahydrate base latent heat storage material reduced in supercooling.

CONSTITUTION: A nucleator such as SrCO3 or CaCO3 is added to barium hydroxide octahydrate to lower the difference (ΔTsc) between the melting temperature (Tm) and the coagulation starting temperature (Tsc) from about 30°C, which is the temperature when no uncleator is added to about 10-12°C to thereby reduce markedly the supercooling of the heat storage material.
