PURPOSE: To eliminate the lateral shaking of a rack by absorbing the effect of the printing operation of a printing head by connecting a base stand and a movable frame by a plurality of laminated structures each formed by alternately laminating elastomer members and rigid plate members.

CONSTITUTION: The movable frame 9 and base stand 10 of the lateral shaking preventing stand of a printer are connected by laminated structures 11. Covers 12, 13 are respectively attached to the movable frame 9 and the base stand 10 in order not only to prevent the relative displacement of the movable frame 9 to the base stand 10 from becoming excessive but also to improve the appearance. Each of the laminated structures 11 is constituted, for example, of four elastomer members 16 and three rigid members 17. As the elastomer members 16, a silicone, urethane and or rubber type gel like elastomer is pref. and it is more pref. to set ASKER C hardness of the elastomer to 50° or lower.
