Abstract:

To provide a lathe capable of machining a long workpiece while preventing vibrations and supporting it, and delivering the workpiece between opposed working spindles.

This lathe includes two working spindles, which are opposed to each other on the same axial line and whose relative movement is controlled; two turret tool posts either above or below the working spindle axial line; and a third tool post having a tool shaft either below or above the axial line. The two turrets have a vibration-prevention tool, and can synchronously move toward at least one working spindle and the working spindle axial line. The third tool post has a workpiece supporting tool controlled by a B-shaft, and the movement of the third tool post is controlled in the working spindle axial line direction and an orthogonal direction.
