Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a lathe with Y-axis function which can be used usually as the lathe with Y-axis function, and in the case where it is turned into a specification having no Y-axis function, sharply increased in rigidity, and moreover embodies the common use of a turret carriage in both the above specifications.
CONSTITUTION: In the lathe with Y-axis function, a X-axis feed base 16 is installed on the X-axis guide 18 of a bed 1, and a turret carriage 17 is installed on a Y-axis guide provided on the X-axis feed base 16, and in the state where the X-axis feed base 16 has been removed, the turret carriage 17 is changed in its posture so far as 90°, and thereby can be directly installed on the X-axis guide 18. A means for making centers mutually coincide is provided to make the turret center TO of the turret carriage 17 with a spindle center SO in the Y-axis direction under the condition of direct installation, and for example, composed of a guide forming member 19' to alter the installation height of the X-axis guide 18 to the bed 1. The turret carriage 17 is installed on the guide 18 in a common use guided section 17b even in the case where it is installed on either of the X-axis and the Y-axis guide.
