To provide laundry apparatus allowed to read laundry information without applying a main power supply.
A drive power is fed to a reader based on the opening of an outer lid 11 to start the reader. When the laundry is supplied in a rotating tub 4 through a supply opening 8 with the outer lie 11 opened, the reader receives the laundry information transmitted from a wireless tag element of the laundry. This constitution, when reading the laundry information, dispenses with the application of the main power supply based on the operation of an enter key 18 of an operation panel 15 so as to eliminate a trouble of operating the enter key 18. The reader is prevented from starting far later than the main function to eliminate a trouble of waiting the start of the reader.
