PURPOSE: To save compliancy of laundry arrangement and decrease chances of recontamination by transferring separately large sized laundry on which no radioactive substance remains, and then by classifying each large and small sized laundry separately on which radioactive substances remain, midway in washed laundry transportation.

CONSTITUTION: A conveyor transporting way 11 transports washed laundry almost horizontally and an end of the transporting way 11 extends or contracts in each transportation direction of the laundry, corresponding to control signals A to be input. Also, a radiation detector 2 detects radiation emitted from washed laundry midway in the transporting way 11 and then outputs detection signals 2a corresponding to the detection results. Subsequently, based on the signal 2a and signals indicating the laundry is a large sized one or a small sized one, in the case of a large sized and no radio-active substance remaining one, the end 11 is extended to transfer to a folder 9. Then, in the case of a large or small sized one and radioactive substances remaining one, the end 11 is contracted to fall the laundry down to a container 5a, and finally, in the case of a small sized and no radioactive substance remaining one, the laundry is contained into the container 5b, and therewith compliancy of laundry arrangement can be much saved and recontamination chances thereof can be much decreased.
