To provide a layered polarizing film having layers of an absorption type polarizing film and a reflection type polarizing film, in particular, to improve scratch resistance on the surface of the reflection type polarizing film side, and to use the layered film for a polarizing light source device and for a liquid crystal display device.
The layered polarizing film 10 consists of integrated layers of an absorption type polarizing film 21, a reflection type polarizing film 22, and a protective layer 23 prepared by irradiating a resin composition containing a compound having 300 to 2,000 molecular weight and at least three acryloyl groups in the molecule with active rays. The protective layer 23 may be directly layered on the reflection type polarizing film 22 or may be formed on an optically transparent film and then layered on the reflection polarizing film 22. A light source device 61 is disposed in the protective layer 23 side of the layered polarizing film 10 to constitute a polarizing light source device. A liquid crystal cell 30 is disposed in the absorption type polarizing film 21 side to constitute a liquid crystal display device.
