Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of acceleration failure and engine stop by avoiding fuel concentration from leaning due to excess of an air quantity to achieve normal combustion in sudden acceleration of the engine in the stratified scavenging two-cycle engine to improve sudden accelerating performance in particular in the cold mode, and to prevent the occurrence of combustion failure due to excess of fuel by avoiding fuel from being stored on the under side of the air-fuel mixture passage when the engine is operated with inclination. SOLUTION: This stratified scavenging two-cycle engine is provided with an air passage for supplying scavenging air from an air cleaner to a scavenging passage, a check valve for opening and closing the air passage according to the negative pressure in the scavenging passage, and an insulator having an air passage and an air fuel mixture passage arranged side by side. The engine is provided with a communicating passage with a small passage area for communicating the air passage with the air fuel mixture passage and feeding the air-fuel mixture in the air fuel mixture passage to the air passage according to the negative pressure in the air passage, and with a check valve fitted to the insulator to be operated by a bimetal plate.
