PURPOSE: To miniaturize a device by providing a layout space for fitting only a front differential or a center differential on the transmission side of a power transmission device mounted on a vehicle.
CONSTITUTION: For the application to a four-wheel drive vehicle, a center shaft 18 is rotatably supported on a transmission case 12 and a clutch housing 13 in parallel with an input shaft 15 and an intermediate shaft 16. A differential layout space is provided adjacently to a transmission 11 at the middle section of the center shaft 18, and a center differential 19 is fitted here. A front differential 20 is fitted at one end of the center shaft 18. The differential limit device 21 of the front and rear wheels is fitted adjacently to the front differential 20, and a hypoid gear 24 constituted of a ring gear 22 and a pinion gear 23 is connected.
