To suppress damages of a lead-acid battery caused when hydrogen gas and oxygen gas generated at the last stage of charging of the lead-acid battery catches on fire by discharge sparks due to static electricity charged in the lead-acid battery.
Liquid port plugs are mounted to liquid ports provided in a lid in this lead-acid battery. In this lead-acid battery, a conductive layer is disposed in the vicinity of the liquid ports, and the terminals of the lead-acid battery are connected with the conductive layer by conductive bush nuts mounted to the terminals. A tongue-like terminal part brought into pressure contact with the conductive layer may be used for the bush nut. Similarly, after mounting a ring-shaped connecting member in which the tongue-like terminal part brought into pressure contact with the conductive layer to the terminal, the ring-shaped connecting member is firmly fixed to the terminal by the bush nut.
