To separate and recover lead from an insoluble residue obtained by washing gas generated when waste containing lead, zinc, sulfur, and chlorine is treated with a reductive heat treatment furnace.
Minerals are removed by solid-liquid separation from a washing liquid containing the insoluble residue obtained by washing the gas generated when the waste containing Pb, S, and Cl is treated with the reductive heat treatment furnace. Subsequently the insoluble residue is separated into a fraction mainly containing carbon and a fraction containing insoluble lead sulfide by gravity separation, such as heavy liquid separation or thin flow selection. The carbon is returned to the reductive heat treatment furnace, and the insoluble lead sulfide is used as raw material for lead refinement.
