To provide a lead storage battery so structured that gas exhausted shall not reach the vicinity of a terminal.
The lead storage battery is provide with a battery case equipped with at least one cell room, a lid body 1 covering a top opening of the battery case, and a top lid 5 for closing an upper part of the lid body 1. The lid body 1 is provided with an exhaust hole 4D exhausting gas from the cell room. The upper part of the lid body is closed with the top lid 5 in order to form a guide channel on the lid body 1 for leading gas exhausted from the exhaust hole 4D toward outside. The guide channel is provided with a first guide channel consisting of an upper guide part for moving upward the gas exhausted from the exhaust hole, a horizontal guide part for moving the gas from the upper guide part in a horizontal direction, and a lower guide part for moving the gas from the horizontal guide part downward, and a second guide channel for guiding the gas from the lower guide part to the exhaust port.
