Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead storage battery having a light-weight frame and superior in idling stop life performance.SOLUTION: The lead storage battery comprises: a positive electrode plate having a positive electrode grid made of a Pb-Ca based alloy; a negative electrode plate having a negative electrode grid made of the Pb-Ca based alloy; and an electrolyte containing a sulfuric acid and aluminum ions. The aspect ratio of the frame of the positive electrode grid is 0.6-0.85, or the aspect ratio of the frame of the negative electrode grid is 0.5-0.75. The electrolyte contains aluminum ions by 0.02-0.2 mol/L. Thus, a lead storage battery having a light-weight frame and superior in idling stop life performance can be obtained.
