Title:
LEAD SURFACE FILM FOR X-RAY TUBE CASING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000243333
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a film for an X-ray tube casing excellent in adhesive property, durability and persistence by forming an electroplate layer between a lead lining exposed to the cooling/insulating oil of the casing storing an X-ray tube and the casing.

An electroplated lead sheet lining 28 is used as a lead face for an X-ray tube system. This electroplating metal containing tin is applied on both faces of the lead sheet lining 28 to form an electroplate layer 30, and the electroplate layer 30 with the thickness of 2±1/100 mil is stuck to an aluminum casing 26 with an epoxy or another proper sticking means. An electrodeposit of tin has corrosion resistance, no poison, an excellent solderability, flexibility and ductility. Since a lead radiation shield material containing tin is electroplated, a corrosion-resistant and clean surface is obtained without being affected by temperature and X-ray irradiation and without causing a chemical change with cooling/insulating oil. The electroplate layer 30 protects the lead sheet lining 28 from peeling and corrosion by oil.
