To provide a lead-wire winding apparatus around a stator core wherein a lead wire can be inserted into respective holding grooves of an insulator attached to the stator core, when starting and ending respectively its winding around the stator core.
In a lead-wire winding apparatus having a guide cylinder 16 moved in the axial direction of a stator core 11 and rotated around its axis, a nozzle 18 attached to the end of the guide cylinder 16, a holder 13 for holding rotatably the stator core 11 thereon and a device 31 for holding and cutting a lead wire (W), there are provided cylindrical members 25, 26 for contacting separably and rotatably with the end surface of the stator core 11. Forming notches 32, 33 respectively in the cylindrical members 25, 26, an edge portion 33a of the foregoing notch 33 is used as a guide to insert the lead wire W into a holding groove 12b of an insulator 12 when starting its winding around the stator core 11, and the path of the lead wire W matches the foregoing groove 12b by the rotation of the holder 13 to squeeze thereafter the lead wire W into a holding groove 12a of the insulator 12, by the upper end surface of the cylindrical member 25 when ending its winding around the stator core 11.
