To provide a leading handrail which is provided on tube and coupler scaffolding and is excellent in assemblabling performance, handleability and storability.

The tube and coupler scaffolding, in which a vertical pipe 1 and horizontal pipes 2 and 2 are vertically and horizontally connected together by means of a straight clamp, is provided with a handrail 10 in which a horizontally-arranged crosspiece 12 is rotatably or separably onnected to a pair of right and left supports 11 and 11. In the leading handrail, the handrail 10 enables a base of the one support 11 to be bent in the face direction of the handrail 10, and the base of each support 11 is separably inserted and connected to right and left attachment devices 20 held with the horizontal pipe 2. The attachment device 20 is provided with a socket for separably inserting and connecting the base of the support 11 to a body portion suspended from the horizontal pipe 2 at a hook portion. A holder portion continuously provided in the body portion inhibits the vertical pipe 1 from coming off in a radial direction from a recess in the body portion.
