To provide a device and method for monitoring a factor of water leakage in an underground pipe channel, capable of surveying a factor of water leakage.SOLUTION: A device for monitoring a factor of water leakage in an underground pipe channel comprises: a water pressure sensor 41 configured to monitor a factor of water leakage in an underground pipe 10 buried in the ground A, and detect water pressure in a pipeline 12 used in the pipe channel 10; an earth pressure sensor 42 configured to detect earth pressure applied to the pipeline 12 or a strain sensor 43 configured to detect strain of the pipeline 12; and a data logger 44 storing detection data in the earth pressure sensor 42 or the strain sensor 43.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
