PURPOSE: To decrease manhours for detecting work to the large extent and to decrease exposure, by providing a detecting pipe at the outer part of a welded line of an equipment body, in which gas is filled, so as to cover the welded part, thereby detecting the leak at a remote position.
CONSTITUTION: In an activated carbon adsorbing tower in an off-gas treatment system, fission product gas is held by activated carbon, and activity is attenuated. A half cut shaped detecting pipe 2 is provided around a welded line 1. A pump 6 and a leak detector 7 are attached. The gas pressure in the equipment is increased in advance, and the inside of the detecting pipe 2 is made to be a negative pressure. When the equipment leaks, it is detected by the leak detector 7. Therefore, the leak can be detected at the remote position. The manhous for the detecting work can be decreased to the large extent, and the exposure at the time of inspection can be decreased.
