Title:
LEAKAGE DETECTOR FOR LIQUID IN TANK
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3805244
Kind Code:
B
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leakage detector for a liquid in a tank, capable of easily and accurately detecting even a trace amount of leakage, without stopping the use of the tank.
SOLUTION: The detector is inserted into a tank and detects leakage of the liquid. Vertical measurement conduits 10 and 14 into which the liquid in the tank is guided are provided with a measurement pipe 10 and a measurement tubule 14, having 1/50 or less of a cross-sectional area of the measurement pipe, communicates with the measurement pipe and is positioned below the measurement pipe. The measurement tubule 14 is attached with a flow sensor 16 used for thermally measuring a flow rate of the liquid. A leakage detecting means 22 detects leakage of the liquid in the tank based on the flow-rate value measured by the sensor. The leakage detecting means issues a leakage detection signal if the flow-rate value measured with the sensor is larger than zero and smaller than the flow-rate value which is acquired when refilling the liquid in the tank or drawing the liquid from the tank.
