After a hot and cold water mixed liquid adjusted to a proper temperature is delivered from a water delivery port 8, a mixed liquid quantity adjusting valve 9 is closed, and while the mixed liquid in a hot and cold water mixing chamber 7 is held at a prescribed temperature, delivery water is stopped. Next, when its valve rod is fastened so that a hot water quantity adjusting valve 3 is closed, though a sealed space reduces in the volume by a quantity corresponding to a fastening distance of the valve rod to a space put in a sealed condition up to a water side check valve through the mixing chamber 7 from a hot water side check valve 2, an excessive quantity of the mixed liquid in the sealed space pushes in a movable piece 12 of a liquid absorbing device 10 to rearward of a spring housing vessel 11 against energizing force of a spring 14, and can escape into the device 10 from the mixing chamber 7. A phenomenon that the mixed liquid in the sealed space leaks outside the valve by breaking a water seal from a clearance between packing and the valve rod under a cover nut of the valve 3 or a water quantity adjusting valve, can be reliably prevented.
