To provide an LED light source unit for an endoscope configured to prevent short circuit of a current circuit and to effectively cool the heat generated in LEDs, and the endoscope using the same.
The LED light source unit 40 for the endoscope includes an insulating layer 26 between a first jacket component 43 and a second jacket component 44 and a insulating film 57 between the second jacket component 44 and a cooling medium reservoir part 50, so that short circuit of the current circuit is prevented. The heat generated in a die 47 of a package-type LED 45, passing through a first electrode substrate 51A, is conducted to the first jacket component 43, and conducted to the cooling medium in the cooling medium reservoir part 50. Since neither the insulating layer 26 nor the insulating film 57 is interposed in the thermal circuit, the thermal circuit without a large thermal resistance can be achieved.
