To provide an LED light source unit capable of efficiently and evenly surface-emitting a light guide plate and easy to be mounted in the light guide plate.
An LED light source unit includes a case 5 opening on one side and a lid body 20. In the case 5, a plurality of substrates 6a, 6b mounted with LEDs 4, 4, ... are arranged to form a polygon. The case 5 and the lid body 20 are attached to a light guide plate 2 so as to sandwich the periphery of a hole 31 formed in the light guide plate 2 and so that the LEDs 4, 4, ... face an inner face of the hole 31 formed in the light guide plate 2. The light guide plate 2 has an attachment hole 32 into which an attachment screw 14 for an LED light source unit 3 is inserted. The attachment hole 32 is provided at a position corresponding to a corner of the polygon.
