To provide an LED lighting apparatus in which an ineffective area which does not contribute to lighting is minimized to make its size smaller and a production cost is controlled.

The LED lighting apparatus is provided with an LED which is mounted on a base plate below and near an edge part of a light guide plate and of which an optical axis is arranged perpendicular to the light guide plate. On an upper surface side of the edge part of the light guide plate, there are formed a concave groove part composed of a rotating curved face which can be obtained by rotating 180 around the optical axis and a curved line open upward against the optical axis of the LED 1 and a linear curved face extending in a line from the rotating curved face to the edge part of the light guide plate and two concave parts positioned equidistant from the concave groove part. Out of incident lights to the light guide plate, a light wholly reflected at the rotating curved face is conveyed directly toward a central part of the light guide plate radially, and a light wholly reflected at the linear curved face is reflected wholly at an outer circumferential side face of the light guide plate and conveyed toward the concave part and is wholly reflected at the concave part radially toward the central part of the light guide plate.
