PURPOSE: To easily stop the leg rest apparatus when load is applied to a leg rest in the reverse direction in the case of changing back rest from a falling state to a rising state by supporting the calves of a sitting person.

CONSTITUTION: This apparatus is provided with a leg rest 4 supported to a guide rail 20b formed at a guide metal fitting 20, which is fitted to the top end of a seat part 3 so as to be freely turned, so as to be freely slid by raising a back rest 2 with a cylinder 10, a push link 14 whose one end is pivotally supported in the almost middle of a connection link 16 fitted so as to be freely turned, and a spring between a rod bar 12 and the push link 14 while providing a guide handle 13 to be slid with the push link 14.
