PURPOSE: To automatically measure the materials whose length is irregular, and continuously execute the press-fixing work, by detecting the passing of the feed material at the prescribed position before the press-fixing part, and rotating the cam one turn by this signal so tha a contact to be press-fixed can be transferred up to the press-fixing part.

CONSTITUTION: A material M is transferred by the driving rolls 3, 4, and when its rear end has passed through the detection part 6, the transference of the material is stopped. When the subsequent material M1 is fed and its front end has attained to the detection part 6, the transference of the material is started, and as the roller 19 rotates, the stopper S of the cam C1 installed to the cam shaft 21 through the sliding clutch is detached from the stage part D, and it is allowed to rotate the cam. In accordance with the movement of the contact of the material M and M1 up to the press-fixing part 9, the cam C1 rotates one turn, the stage part D is hit against the stopper S, the rotation stops, it is stopped to send out the material by drawing up the driving rolls 3, 4 by the signal which the switch LS has received at that time, and the press-fixing part 9 is operated.
