To provide a lens barrel device which can diminish the impact on a lens, etc., and can eventually prevent the failure of lenses, etc., by preventing a lens barrel projecting outside from a camera body from colliding against an obstacle even if the lens barrel tends to collide against such obstacle.
The lens barrel device is provided with a first lens barrel 2 which is a non-collapsible barrel section formed integrally with the camera body and at least partly projected from the camera body and a second lens barrel 3 which constitutes a collapsible barrel section freely projectable outside from the first lens barrel 2. The lower part of the first lens barrel 2 is provided with a mount 21 in order to form a strength intensifying means by attaching a cap 4 to be put on the second lens barrel 3 to the first lens barrel 2; in addition, the cap 4 is provided with a fitting section 43 to be fitted to the mount 21.
