Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain small diameters of zoom lens barrels.SOLUTION: A lens barrel according to the present invention holds an imaging optical system which is a zoom lens having a five-group composition, and allows an entire length upon non-photographing to be shortened. The lens barrel has: a cylinder-like cam frame that is rotatably disposed around an optical axis; a first lens drive part that drives the cam frame around the optical axis upon performing a magnification variation operation of the imaging optical system; a plurality of first cam grooves that are carved in an outer peripheral surface of the cam frame; and a plurality of second cam grooves that are carved in an inner peripheral surface of the cam frame. A first lens group holding frame holding a first lens group has a plurality of cam followers that are fitted into the first cam grooves, while a second lens group holding frame holding a second lens group and a third lens group holding frame holding a third lens group have a plurality of cam followers that are fitted into the second cam grooves, respectively.
