To provide a lens device which can realize a precise control of a diaphragm.SOLUTION: A lens device (2) includes: an optical system (3) with a lens unit; a diaphragm (4) for adjusting the light amount in the optical system (3); and a controller (7) for controlling the diameter of the opening in the diaphragm (4) on the basis of the driving instruction value for the aperture value, the controller (4) controlling the diaphragm (4) so that the direction of change of the diameter of the opening in the diaphragm (4) and the direction of change of the driving instruction value agree with each other when the condition for driving the diaphragm is changed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
