A circuit type antenna 35 and a strobe control IC 35 are packaged to a circuit board 22 of an electronic flash apparatus. In response with the reception of a readout signal of a count value by the antenna 35, the IC 37 inputs a response signal to the antenna 35. The response signal is converted to response radio waves which are communicated with an external transmitter-receiver from the antenna 35. In response with the input of operation inhibition ratio waves to the antenna 35, an operation inhibition signal is inputted to the IC 37 and the operation of the strobe circuit is inhibited. Also, in response with the input of inhibition cancellation radio waves to the antenna 35, an inhibition cancellation signal is inputted to the IC 37 and the strobe circuit is restored.
