To prevent the selection of an unsuitable photographing mode while suppressing excess power consumption in a lens-fitted photographic film unit which is provided with a plurality of photographing modes having respectively different exposure conditions.
When a vibration detection switch 30 detects vibration, power is supplied to respective parts of a printed board 29. A first decision circuit 52 to which power is supplied decides a suitable photographing mode by comparing whether an output signal from a photometric sensor 16 reaches a prescribed threshold or not. A second decision circuit 54 decides whether the photographing mode decided by the first decision circuit 52 decides to coincide with a photographing mode selected by an operation member 15 or not. An LED driver 58 turns on an OK LED 17 when both the photographing modes coincide with each other in accordance with the decided result of the second decision circuit 52, and when both the photographing modes are different from each other, turns on an NG LED 18 to inform a photographer of the decided result.
