PURPOSE: To perform grinding of the circumferential face together with one spherical face of a lens to be worked and to perform the centerig work simultaneously by mutually combining a work spindle, spherical face grinding spindle and circumferential face grinding spindle.
CONSTITUTION: When grinding a work lens 2, having single grinded face, it is secured through adhesives 5 to the right side of a lens holding section 4 of a work spindle 3 such that the center of curvature of the grinding face will be on the axis of the work spindle 3. The position of a spherical face grinding spindle 6 is adjusted to achieve desired curvature when a spherical face grindstone 7 has grinded on the work face of said lens 2. Furthermore a spherical face grinding spindle 8 is adjusted such that the circumferential grindstone 9 will grind the circumferential face of said lens 2. Thereafter each spindle 3, 6, 8 is rotated to grind the spherical and circumferential faces of said lens simultaneously.
