Abstract:
PURPOSE: To accurately measure the position of a lens to be measured in a simple operation by providing a lens-measuring means that measures a refraction characteristic of the lens to be measured, a spectacle frame limiting member that limits the spectacle frame and a spectacle frame position detecting means that detects a position of the spectacle frame limiting member.
CONSTITUTION: This lens meter comprises a lens holder 20 for holding a progressive multi-focus lens LE fixed to a spectacle frame F and a lens table 21 on which the frame F is located. The height of the table 21 is varied by means of a lever 22 so that the vertical position of the lens LE can be varied in the range of a plane roughly perpendicular to a measuring optical axis 0. The position in the traverse direction can be changed by moving the frame F in the right or left direction on the surface 21a of the table 21. The movement quantity of the lens LE is set by means of a lens movement-setting device 25. A measuring operator looks in at an eyepiece 23 and rotates a knob 24 until a target image is sharply focussed on a reticle, thereby enabling measurement of a refraction characteristic of a lens by utilizing a diopter scale.
