Abstract:
To provide a lens assembly and a control method thereof capable of allowing an imaging apparatus to precisely correct focus detection error.SOLUTION: The lens assembly having an imaging optical system is configured to be mounted on/dismounted from an imaging unit which has an image pickup device. The lens assembly includes: storage means storing a piece of information relevant to an MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) curve of the imaging optical system for multiple different space frequencies; and transmission means that is configured to transmit the information to the imaging unit responding to a request from the imaging unit, in which the information is not weighed according to space frequency.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
