Abstract:
To provide a lens unit and a camera system that can reduce change of the brightness of a taken image when varying a power while suppressing increase of load on a control system.SOLUTION: The lens unit includes: a variable power optical system having a diaphragm of adjusting an optical amount; and a processor for controlling the opening amount of the diaphragm on the basis of information on the variable power of the variable power optical system. The processor controls the opening amount in the range that satisfies the relation of 3<{(Fmax-Fmin)/Fave}×100<10 when the maximum value and the minimum value of the F-value in the whole area of the variable power of the variable power optical system are denoted by Fmax and Fmin, respectively, and the average value of the F-value at a wider edge of the variable power optical system and the F-value at a telephoto end is denoted by Fave.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
