Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve uniformity and stability of a long period of electrification by preventing the magnetic particles of magnetic brush from being decreased because of being stuck and shifted to the side of the body to be electrified.
CONSTITUTION: In an image recording device and a process cartridge using an electro-static chaging member 20 having the magnetic brush 23 of magnetic particles, having a charge infecting layer at a surface and electrifying the body to be electrified by impressing a voltage while making the magnetic brush 23 abut on the body to be electrified 1 or using an electrifying device using the electrostatic charging member 20, the longitudinal end of the power feeding part 22 to the magnetic brush 23 of the electrostatic charging member 20 is formed with a member 24 electrically insulated from the power feeding part 22, and the member 24 is formed with an electrically conductive body, the position of the body to be electrified equivalent to the end part of the magnetic brush is formed with an electrically conductive body electrically insulated from the electrically conductive base of the body to be electrified 1, the outermost surface of the body to be electrified of this position is formed with an electrically conductive body, the effective width of the magnetic brush 23 is made longer than the coated width of the photosensitive layer of a photosensitive body 1 (the body to be electrified) and the position of the photosensitive body equivalent to the end part of the electrostatic charging member 20 is formed with an electrically conductive body electrically insulated from the conductive base of the photosensitive body 1.
