Abstract:
PURPOSE: To eliminate troubles such as overflow and the idle rotation of a pump positively by comparing the time change rate of the liquid level, computed by a computer, with the output change of a level gauge.
CONSTITUTION: When the information of bar code labels 4, 5 is read by a bar code reader 10 before the start of a pump 2 and inputted to a computer 8, data required to compute the time change rate of the liquid level is inputted to a computing part 6. The computing part 6 receives information on the flow of a pump 2 and the cross-sectional area of a container 1 and computes the time change rate of the liquid level. When liquid feed is started by the start of the pump 2, a failure judging part 7 compares the time change rate of the liquid level with the output change of a level gauge 3 and judges a failure in the case of the difference exceeding the set value. Upon judging the level gauge 3 to be in failure by the judging part 7, a signal is sent to an external output device 9, and the operation of the pump 2 is stopped.
