Abstract:
PURPOSE: To hold the degree of superheat at a temperature suitable for casting by holding a molten metal in a melting crucible in a suitable state.
CONSTITUTION: A material 22 charged in a melting crucible 12 is induction heated by a high-frequency induction coil 20 disposed at the outside of the crucible 12. The induction heated material 22 is melted while holding the bottom in contact with a solidified shell 24 formed at the bottom in the crucible in a solidified state, and the molten metal 22a is raised and held in a non-contact state with the inner wall by the electromagnetic force immersed into the crucible. The relationship between the central height H of the metal 22a in the crucible 12 and the inner diameter D of the crucible 12 is set to H/D>0.5.
