Abstract:
PURPOSE: To shorten demount processing time by issuing a move command by raising a pseudo unload completion report corresponding to an unload command from a host device.
CONSTITUTION: Concerning mount processing, a storage medium is conveyed from a medium preserving box 10 or an inserting/ejecting device 15 to a recording and reproducing device 34 by a medium conveying device 25 based on a first move instruction received from a host device 20 to an input/output controller 26 and corresponding to the next load instruction, the medium is loaded to the recording and reproducing device 34 and read or written. Concerning the demount processing, after the read or write operation is finished, the storage medium is ejected from the recording and reproducing device 34 based on the unload instruction and conveyed to the medium preserving box 10 or the inserting/ejecting device 15 by the medium conveying device 25 based on the second move instruction. In this case, the end report of the pseudo unload operation is raised to the host vice 20 from the start of the medium ejecting operation to the end of the unload operation, and a first pseudo status reporting means 216 is provided to issue the second move instruction from the host device.
